Bubba Gump Shrimp Company’s story began in 1996 when entrepreneur Anthony Zolezzi acquired the rights to use “Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.” from Paramount Pictures. Partnering with a friend in the restaurant business, they launched the first Bubba Gump restaurant in Monterey, California, in collaboration with the film’s distributor. Its success led to international franchising across four continents. In 2010, the restaurant chain was acquired by Landry’s Inc., with its headquarters relocating to Houston, Texas. Today, over 25 years later, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company operates more than 30 locations worldwide, continuing to transport guests to the magical world of Forrest Gump through its unique establishments.
