Established in 1979 by James Chiu, George Chiu, K. C. Chang, and Diana Chiu, Mandarin Restaurant has deep roots in Ontario, Canada. With decades of restaurant experience in Montreal and New York City, the founders ventured to Ontario and purchased a small restaurant named “Mandarin” on Queen Street in Brampton, Ontario. Initially operating as a small à-la-carte restaurant, Mandarin expanded its horizons in 1987 by embracing franchising. To become a franchisee, candidates must have worked for at least one year at the restaurant and graduated from the Management Apprenticeship Program. Today, Mandarin Restaurant boasts 29 locations across Southern Ontario, employing over 2,500 people, and continues to delight patrons with its culinary delights and warm hospitality.
